That’s exactly what the New England Patriots player did when he won at least $100,000 in Bitcoin on Tuesday when he appeared on the online show “Bark Box” and successfully guessed the number of treats in a box. After Brady won his Bitcoin, he took to Instagram to announce his new venture, saying: “#bitcoin #bitcointrade #cryptocurrency.” We can’t wait to see what this superstar does with his new currency!

The legendary NFL superstar recently inked a deal to be the official spokesperson for the first-ever cryptocurrency exchange to be regulated in the United States, BitMD, and in the process became the first celebrity to ever promote a cryptocurrency.

Tom Brady is rumored to be stockpiling bitcoins

Football star Tom Brady has jumped on the bitcoin bandwagon. The quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who plays in the National Football League (NFL), is considered the greatest quarterback of all time. He became the G.O.A.T. (greatest of all time) in NFL history after winning his sixth Super Bowl two years ago. Meanwhile, Brady won another Super Bowl.

In response to a tweet from Jason Janowitz of Blockworks, who said: Tom Brady is rumored to be stockpiling bitcoins. Retweet if you think GOAT should include laser eyes. Let’s go. A few hours later, Brady replied: Hmm, maybe I should change it.

Without revealing whether he bought bitcoin, the star quarterback changed his Twitter profile picture to one with laser eyes.

Since February, the laser eye meme has spread in the bitcoin community, implying that anyone wearing such eyes has a goal of seeing the bitcoin price reach $100,000. Politicians, celebrities and investors joined in and put laser eyes on their profile pictures.

The crypto community is very happy to have Brady on board and finds his laser activation very bullish. Many people on social media are already calling him a bitcoiner.

Microstrategy CEO Michael Saylor tweeted: Bitcoin now has a star quarterback. Welcome to the Tom Brady team. He stated: Laser Eyes proclaims a technology that guarantees the human right to life, liberty and property. Laser eyes direct the action, while blurry distractions are avoided. The laser-like eyes indicate an intention to make bitcoin a tool for economic empowerment. The Nasdaq-listed company has collected nearly 100,000 bitcoins for its vaults.

Commenting on the event, angel investor Balaji Srinivasan, former CTO of Coinbase and general partner at Andreessen Horowitz, said:

We have mayors, congressmen, senators, billionaires and actors with laser eyes. Now we have the best quarterback of all time. Bitcoin has only two levels left: the first central banker with laser vision and the first head of state with laser vision.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion also plans to launch a non-playable token (NFT) platform called Autograph this spring, CNN reported last month. Autograph will also release an NFT with Brady.

More and more professional athletes are asking to be paid in bitcoins. Russell Okung, who is known for his statements: He paid me in bitcoins and then decided to transfer half of my $13 million salary in BTC, he wrote: Tom Brady seems to be the focus. So many athletes contact me about bitcoin and crypto-currencies, I call every day. I like it, but I need to find a better way to automate it.

Earlier this month, NFL draft pick Trevor Lawrence invested his estimated $24 million crypto-currency signing bonus. In April, Sean Culkin, player for the Kansas City Chiefs, said he would collect his salary for 2021 in bitcoins. In addition, the Sacramento Kings, an American professional basketball team, announced that they would offer all employees in their organization the ability to be paid in bitcoins.
